Golden Hour is a cheat code for photography. The light is soft, the shadows are lifted, and everything seems to have a warm, dreamy glow. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to shoot at noon, and the light is harsh, contrasty, and unforgiving. I have a family, job, school, and responsibilities that keep me from being able to always shoot at sunrise and sunset. My solution: the Bubblegum LUT.
Bubblegum lowers the contrast, to soften harsh shadows and injects a a rich golden tone into the highlights to create a creamy analog feel.
My recommendation is to use this Lumix LUT in harsh mid-day sun or on overcast days. Play around with your WB to really dial in the golden nostalgic look you’re after. I took the sample images while waiting for my wife in the parking lot in the middle of day. The sunlight was harsh and the light was less than ideal. This Lumix LUT did a ton of heavy lifting.
